Location: Greenville, NC

Project
The Campus Towers project consists of one privately owned dormitory building containing 158 units situated on the East Carolina University campus in Greenville, North Carolina. Campus Towers was designed and constructed as an eight-story cast-in-place concrete-framed structure with light-gauge metal framing infill panels for the exterior walls. The exterior wall framing was covered with paper-faced gypsum wall sheathing and a barrier exterior insulation and finish system (“EIFS”). Berman & Wright observed and documented locations where the integrity of the building envelope was compromised due to damages attributed to Hurricane Irene in August of 2011.

Services
Berman & Wright performed an independent analysis of the impact of Hurricane Irene on the building.  This included interior and exterior site investigations to document damages and an analysis of project records.  Berman & Wright provided support during insurance negotiations, ensuring the owner maximum coverage of claims while also providing construction consulting during the recladding project.
